1971- Short Order

The Hot Wheels Redline Short Order is one of the most unique castings from the early years. Released in 1971 and designed by Howard Rees, it looks like a compact dragster but with a quirky twist—it has a giant “hamburger” style engine sitting in the back! The oversized motor and exaggerated stance made it stand out instantly among collectors and kids alike.

It came in a variety of Spectraflame colors, and like many from that year, it was part of the “Heavyweights” series. Because of its unusual design, the Short Order wasn’t as popular with kids back then!

If you or anyone you know owns any of these vintage treasures, feel free to send a message!
