FUN FACT FRIDAY:

1969 Volkswagen Beach Bomb

This model is referred to as the “side-loading Beach Bomb.” The initial design of this very popular casting featured a small sunroof located at the center of the roof, a trimmer body and a pair of plastic surfboards (one yellow and one orange) that extended out through the rear window. The second wider version had a fully exposed glass roof and the surfboards were mounted on the sides of the vehicle like the one pictured in the video. A flower decal sheet was included with each blister pack to randomly place the the Beach Bomb as an option.
